Opening Reception: Saturday, December 10, 6-8 PM. Join us and the Artists for our Art show opening with music by Sallie Hannah Rhyne on Keyboard and Dave Topham on Trumpet.

The current show entitled: Looking Back and Into the Future covers the holiday period crossing from 2011 to 2012 making us aware of the passage of time and giving us the opportunity to envision the future. Lots of great handmade gifts available if you are looking for something special for the holidays or the New Year.
As a major part of our show, we are pleased to present a retrospective show of the fine artwork of Artist, Helen Breger, now in her 90’s who has recently published two books. The show includes work from her fashion art days and the days when she illustrated poets when she worked as an illustrator for the Chronicle and it takes us from the days she left Nazi Germany and came to the USA to the present where she is still actively creating new fine artwork. We look at different decades and different mediums she has mastered.

Also included as a major part of the show, is the artwork of a number of local artists who focus on the theme of looking back and then into the future. They offer amazing artwork encompassing a look at fossils; archeology; nature and transition; stepping into the past and jetting off to the future;  using old art forms such as cyanotype and stained glass and new ones such as digital arts; entering the spiritual and the psychic; recalling cherished memories and hopes; alerting us to dangers of the future should we continue on our course without adjusting our lifestyles; giving us relief through the use  humor and providing time to envision the future, override our fears and to reach for our dreams. They work in various mediums: paintings, photography, digital art, fiber arts, crafts, jewelry, printmaking, garden art and lots more.
